“Emotions make a man do crazy things. But a woman is a demon without it.”
“Bury him, mourn his fucking death. But come Monday morning you mine Aliyana.” Marco
Marco used me and hurt me, the day he left me in a crumbled mess on the floor. I convinced myself he hated me, that he is nothing but a distant dream I once wanted.
Now, I am in his home and he is looking at me like I am more than just a Mezzosangue, and I am staring at him, like he is the enemy because he is.
He wants to kill my friend, but I will not let that happen. Our cards are out, and I am a Queen with aces. I called his bluff and he played his hand too early, now it’s my turn. Only Marco Catelli doesn’t believe in fair play and I am done losing.
A look inside
“Aliyana, talk quickly, you keeping Marco from
his fiance.” His words make her flinch, but if he sees
it Sartini doesn’t show it.
“You wanted to kidnap him, kill him, because of
a video. I don’t blame Mero for taking his chances,
you have made it so that he is dead anyway.”
I take a step closer to her, as my anger rises, but
Sartini blocks her with his own body. He is the type
of father who would step in to keep his daughter
safe. No matter how wrong it is. I have always admired that about him, until now. This is between
Aliyana and me.
“Aliyana will not know where Mero is, if he
shows up she will tell you.”
“No, I won’t Papa.” She comes from behind him,
that fucking dress, is not a dress but a plastic she
wrapped around her body.
“Aliyana,” Her father’s voice says her name in
warning. I don’t need to turn my head to know,
Gabriel, Michel and Salvatore are behind me. Deno
takes a step backwards readying himself, if they think
about doing anything as the tension increases.
“I will not help you kill my friend; you can forget it. And if you think Gabriel or Michel is going to
help let me just rest your little mind now. Read my
lips Catelli, not happening,” She glares at me and if
her look could shoot bullets, I would be dead right
“You should learn your place.” I warn her,
“And what place is that exactly?” She smiles, but
there is nothing nice about that smile as she steps behind her father, slightly, “This place here? I am my
“Aliyana, enough of this,” Sartini tells her but his
eyes are on me and his warning is clear.. Don’t fuck
with his kid.
“Is this what you want?”I ask Sartini, because he
has just drawn a line before we even tied the one we
“If it’s the only way yes.”
I look at Aliyana, and then I turn and stare at the
men who stand behind me.
“Loyalty gets you killed,” I tell them as I leave,
with Deno following.
“That went well,” Deno mutters as we start the
car and get out of there.
“Did you find out anything else from Dexter?”
“No, she didn’t take Mero to any of his properties. Wherever Mero is we will find him. Aliyana
wants time to prove his innocence. I say we give her
that for now while we find him. Maybe he is innocent, and them we would have to face the consequences of his death.”
My phone rings and I see the Ghosts name flashing.
“The Shadows will be arriving soon.” He clicks
the phone off and I watch Seattle breathe its last few
hours of peace for a long time.
The urge to text her is potent, so I do.
Me: I hope you know what you’re doing
Yana: What I have to

“This world will never offer you those comforts for very long, Aliyana. Sooner or later, your luck will run out, and all you’ll have left is yourself. You should find someone to love while you can and enjoy the beginning of that love because, if there is one thing I can guarantee you, Aliyana, is that love will end as fast as it began.” I have never met this man before today, and our brief moment is just this moment. But there is something in the sky at work tonight because when he stands next to me, I can
sincerely say that I feel safe. And his words have more truth to it than I will confess to even myself. I shrug, digesting his all too knowing words.
“I should. But the one I love will be promised to my sister soon. It took me 5 minutes in his company to see, I am not the one he wants, and I have spent 5 years loving him.”
Union Of Death Sizzler
The lines that blur between love and war are often the only thing keeping you alive.
I wasn’t a full Italian. My mother was a Russian, a female of the Bratva. To create peace between the Famiglia, her family gave her up. My father always said I was born lucky; I would never have to marry for power. I could choose. And for a while, I believed him. For a while, I thought I could marry the one I love.
Until HE, Marco Catelli, eldest son of the Capo of the Famiglia, lost his betrothed and rose to be the Capo Dei Capi, The Boss of all Bosses. Until he needed an heir, a wife. Until he chose me.
My name is Aliyana Capello, daughter of Consigliere Sartini Capello, and this is my confession.
He took everything from me, now it’s my turn and what my husband isn’t expecting, is that I play on BLOOD
I was his second choice, his biggest mistake. I never wanted things to turn out the way they did, but they did. Now my choice is limited. Join him, or end him. What will I choose? The clock is ticking, my friends life is hanging on a thread and I, Aliyana Capello am the only who can save him. But at what cost?
